World famous Polo player Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Figueras, will join the 2018 Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo as the International Polo Ambassador.
Nacho is well known beyond the polo world as the face of Ralph Lauren’s Black Label line and has represented the entire line of Polo fragrances for over a decade.
Rob Archibald is a professional polo player with a handicap in Australia of 6 goals, making him one of Australia’s top ranked polo players. Rob played a key role in the introduction of the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo in 2017 and will take to the field against his wife Francesca Cumani in 2018.
Outside of Polo, Rob thoroughly enjoys thoroughbred racing and has previously attended a number of Magic Millions January Carnivals on the Gold Coast.
Francesca Cumani is a true thoroughbred expert. As a Magic Millions Polo Ambassador and Expert Commentator, Francesca is an integral part of Channel Seven’s broadcast of the Magic Millions Raceday.
Hailing from a racing family, horses have always been part of Francesca’s life, and her career to date has reflected the multi-faceted offerings of the industry – from starting out as an amateur Jockey, involvement in the ownership and breeding of racehorses, as well as being a highly competitive polo player.
Recently named as the new Australian Team Captain, Jack Archibald has played polo all over the world. Boasting a handicap of 6, Jack is based at the Scone Polo Club and is a regular member of the Garangula Polo Team.
Hugh Bowman grew up in a small NSW town, Dunedoo, has just been crowned World’s Best Jockey and is most famous for his long association with the champion mare Winx. This will be Hugh’s polo debut and given his horsemanship skills it won’t take him long to master the game.
Kathy O’Hara is a very accomplished horsewoman and one of Australia’s leading female riders who features in all the major races around Australia. Kathy also has a passion for Showjumping and retraining race horses for a second career after racing. This will also be her first game of polo but like Hugh, she isn’t expected to take too long to master the sport.
Chris was once one of the world’s leading jockeys and since his retirement in 2015 he has firmly established himself as one of Queensland’s leading trainers. As a winner of the Melbourne Cup, Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate & Golden Slipper his skills in the saddle are without question.
Mick Kent is a multiple Group 1 winning racehorse trainer based in Melbourne. A world renowned horseman that has plied his trade in Singapore where he was the leading trainer in South East Asia. Another polo rookie, who will no doubt shine when he takes to the field.
Chloe Warren is a talented up and coming player based in Adelaide and has played polo all over the world. Chloe is a very good horsewoman with a particular passion for working with young horses, she has been selected to play for Australia in an up and coming tour of India and this will be her first time playing on the Gold Coast. Handicap 1
Billie Mascart is an accomplished polo player based out of the Windsor Polo Club in Sydney. Billie competes all over the world and has represented the Australian Team on several occasions. She is known for her powerful hitting and strong defensive play. Handicap 1
Will White is a very stylish player that makes playing polo look very easy. He is based out of the Scone Polo Club and played a major role in establishing one of the biggest breeding operations start up’s in Argentina. He has represented Australia on several occasions. A player to watch!!! Handicap 4
Younger brother of Will, Jasper White is also based out of the Scone Polo Club and has a very powerful game and loves a challenge. Jasper has played the majority of his career in Australia and has won nearly all the major tournaments. He was awarded the Most Valuable Player on the Australian Team’s recent tour to Barbados. Handicap 4
Alec White, like his cousins is based out of the Scone Polo Club. He divides his time between England and Australia where he is a regular player on the English High Goal scene. He is also a regular member of the Australian Polo Team, a very exciting player to watch. Handicap 5
Ed Archibald lives in Sydney and plays polo out of the Scone Polo Club. He is a very strong player with an incredible eye. Ed has represented Australia on several occasions, on top of a full time career in Property Development. Handicap 4
Jack Keily has had a breakthrough year which culminated in winning the majority of Australia’s major tournaments. He is based in Perth and is one of Australia’s best up and coming talents. He divides his time between Australia and Argentina where he mixes it with the best in the world. Handicap 4
James Lester grew up in Perth and for the last few year has based his polo out of NSW. James is a regular member on the professional circuit and part of many successful teams. He recently represented Australia in the World Cup. Handicap 4
Alessia is a very talented and exciting young player who is based in Queensland. She has represented Australia and is often seen competing in teams with her father in tournaments around Australia. Alessia is representing Australia in the upcoming tour of India.
Damian, or DJ as he is referred to on the field has been one of Australia’s best players for the last 20 years. He has represented Australia on numerous occasions and is based in Beaudesert. DJ has also been part of the team helping select horses for today’s games.
